SUNGHA JUNG
Jung began to play the guitar after watching his father play. He first
learned piano, but found it somewhat boring, while his father's guitar
playing looked great.
Jung was taught the basics of guitar by his father. After learning the
basics, he developed his skill greatly just by trying to play what he
heard. When he struggled he would study online videos.
Jung came to play fingerstyle when his father discovered the
fingerstyle technique on the internet. His first 'idol' was guitarist Kotaro Oshio, from whom he developed interest in fingerstyle.
At first, Jung's mother and grandmother disapproved of the 'noise' that
Jung and his father continuously created, but they came to understand
it as his gift. Soon after his first debut video on the internet, he
garnered many supporters, from whom he asked for advice on his playing. His cover of "The Pirates of the Caribbean"
theme song, which currently has over 45 million views, made Jung an
internet sensation, and his playing caught the attention of
world-renowned guitarists, who found his covers of their songs
impressive. Jung has since played on stage with them multiple times.
Jung has received guitar lessons from Hata Shuji, a well-known Japanese
jazz guitarist. He has also been mentored by German guitarist Ulli Bögershausen, who Jung refers to as his musical inspiration, and from whom he learned much about composing and arranging. In a video he recommended the 'AllEars method' for those who like his style of guitar playing and want to learn it.
In addition to steel-string and classical guitar, he has been recorded
playing twelve-string guitar, electric guitar, four and six-stringed
ukulele, harp ukulele, and piano. He has also sung live, singing John
Mayer's "Why Georgia" at a concert in Bangkok. Apart from Korean, Jung speaks English, which he studies to be able to communicate during concerts abroad.

Chenggyecheon
Stream, Seoul
Until it was restored in 2005, Cheonggyecheon Stream
existed only as a neglected watercourse hidden by an overpass. Today, it
has been transformed into a haven of natural beauty amidst the bustle
of city life.
Narae Bridge, expressing a butterfly in flight, and Gwanggyo Bridge,
symbolizing the harmony of the past and future, are just two of the more
than twenty beautiful bridges that cross the stream.
The ‘Rhythmic Wall
Stream’, lined with fine marble, sculptures, and Korea’s 8th stone
building, Palseokdam, adorn the Cheonggyecheon Stream.
Cheonggyecheon Stream passes close to Deoksugung Palace, Seoul Plaza,
the Sejong Center, Insa-dong Street, Changdeokgung Palace,
and
Changgyeonggung Palace, allowing visitors to easily visit major tourist
sites after a leisurely stroll along the stream
There is a small well by here where everyone throws their coins in then at night it is cleared out and all the money goes to the children in need .
Cheonggye
Plaza
Cheonggye Plaza in Sejong-ro is situated at the
fountainhead of Cheonggyecheon Stream. From Dong-A Ilbo Building, the
starting point of Cheonggyecheon Stream, Cheonggye Plaza stretches all
the way to Sindapcheolgyo Bridge.
The Plaza is roughly 160m long and 50m
wide and has a beautiful fountain, an artificial waterfall, and a
miniature replica of Cheonggyecheon Stream, as well as a walking path.
The area commemorates the Cheonggyecheon Stream Restoration Project, and
also symbolizes gathering, harmony, peace, and unity.
Isn't this wonderful, and all with the help of the South Korean People themselves. You really have to walk from one end to the othere or to understand the meaning behind these words, We are not staying in Seoul for more than three days at the beginning of April, but the second day will be spent walking the stream and watching the people, children and wild life as we make our way from Dongdamun to the Palace..
These are specially here for the littlest ones, who are adorable
Just for fun these are the lyrics for "Robocar Poli Korean Theme Song
4 medium potatoes, a small onion, 3 cloves of
garlic, a small can of whole peeled tomatoes, mayonnaise, hot sauce,
smoked paprika, rice vinegar, parsley.
Method:
Dice and boil the potatoes until they are slightly undercooked. (Time saving tip:
boil two extra potatoes and saute some extra onion to set aside and use
for the croquetas recipe below.) Drain and set aside.
Dice the onion
and garlic, and saute them in oil with a tsp each of parsley and paprika
until slightly brown. Add the tomatoes, a tbsp of vinegar and a tbsp of
hot sauce, adding salt and pepper to taste and using a spoon to break
up the tomatoes.
When the mixture cools down a bit, transfer to a
blender and puree until smooth. Coat the potatoes in the tomato mixture
and bake them in the oven for 12-15 minutes on 250 C, or until crispy.
After plating the patatas, drizzle with garlic aioli (mayo, minced
garlic, lemon juice, salt and pepper) and garnish with parsley (fresh if
possible).
Croquetas de Jamon
Ingredients:
A small block of ham, Pecorino Romano, two medium
potatoes, butter, flour, milk, bread crumbs, ground sage, salt and
pepper, two eggs.
Method:
Boil the potatoes until they are soft enough
to pierce through with a fork. Drain and transfer back to the pot,
adding 2 tbsp of butter and 1/4 cup of milk.
Mash and then whisk the
mixture until it is smooth, then add 1/2 cup of diced ham, a tbsp of
sage, 1/2 cup of grated Pecorino, salt and pepper. Add a little bit of
flour at a time, continuing to stir until the mixture is thick and the
cheese is melted.
Take it off the flame and let it cool. Using floured
hands, roll spoonfuls of the mixture into small patties, dip each patty
into beaten eggs, then roll in breadcrumbs until they are fully coated.
Fry the patties in grapeseed or olive oil until they are golden brown on
both sides. Serve with a garlic aioli (see above).
Gambas al Ajillo
Ingredients:
400 g of whole, peeled shrimp, 2 lemons, parsley, red pepper flakes, salt and black pepper, 5-6 cloves of garlic.
Method:
If you opt for frozen, precooked shrimp, let them
defrost for a bit before you start. Crush and coarsely chop the garlic.
Put it into an ample amount of olive oil, and let it simmer for a few
minutes.
Before it starts to brown, add the shrimp, 1/4 cup of parsley, 1
tbsp of pepper flakes and a little bit of salt and pepper.
For uncooked
shrimp, cooking time is slightly longer and the pink color will be
telltale.
Precooked shrimp should be cooked only until hot. Serve with
lemon wedges.
