This song is performed by a group of Kuwaiti kids on the occasion of Independence and National Day of Kuwait melody is some kind of folklore and traditional old Kuwaiti tunes mixed with some modern melody , and the Scenes of the song Tells the story of Kuwait before the discovery of oil
The song is made by the National Bank of Kuwait ( NBK )

I am having great difficulty in finding songs for the children of the middle east, especially Saudi, Yemen, Oman etc. surely there must be some songs and dances for the little ones to enjoy. Thankyou Kuwait for this wonderful rendering.

WELCOME TO IRAN

Map of the Persian Empire (550-486 B.C.)

Map of the Persian Empire

This map reveals the expansion of the Persian Empire from Cyrus the Great to Darius I, 550-486 BC. The Persian Achaemenid Empire was actually the last great empire of the ancient Near East. Its boundaries extended from the Aegean Sea in the west to the Indus River in the east, such a large empire was created in just a little over 10 years by Cyrus II the Great.

Cyrus the Great (559-530 BC)

Cyrus II, also known as Cyrus the Great was the founder of the Persian Empire. He was of the Achaemenid family and the vast Achaemenid Empire of the Persians reached from the Aegean Sea in the West all the way to Sagdiana in the East. It encompassed the former kingdom whom it had conquered, the Babylonian Empire.

Cyrus came to the throne about 559 BC when Persia was under the rule of the Medes, a kingdom to the north of Persia. The Median Empire extended from the middle of Turkey (Anatolia) in the West, to the area of Afghanistan in the East. In 550 BC Cyrus the Persian refused to submit to the Medes, and the King of Media immediately attacked Persia. Cyrus was victorious in battle at Pasargadae and moved on to capture the Median capital at Ecbatana. Cyrus brought into submission the whole former Median and Babylonian empires by 539 BC, and was finally killed in a battle against the pointed hats Scythian nomadic warriors in Central Asia.

Many of the Modern Play Station and XBox Games are sort of situated in and around this region. The same with Films and Drama's . In my collection of DVD's  there are many of the same.

Prince of Persia poster.jpg

I WONDER HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE PLAYED THIS WONDERFUL GAME.

THERE ARE MANY VERSIONS ABOUT THE PRINCE OF PERSIA ALL OF THEM VARY SLIGHTY BUT THEY ARE ALL FANTASTIC AND WHERE BETTER TO PLACE IT THAN IN PERSIA.

NOW OF COURSE THE BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY OF IRAN

Haoma's Heart

Then there is the Mythology which even includes the magical powers of Haoma

The Haoma was a magic vine that destroyed

the Kingdom of Izdihar.

Haoma transformed the people of Izdihar into horrible monsters. However, with a magic sword, the vine was sealed and stopped from devouring the kingdom. The only survivor of the Haoma's attack was the genie Zahra, who convinced the Prince to follow her in the magic realm of Izdihar with a promise of a kingdom. But the true intention of the genie was to slay the Haoma with the help of the Prince, however, the Prince released the vine unknowingly by taking out the sword from a statue, that transformed into a creature called the Sorceress.

The sword also got broken, when a creature know as the Beast attacked the Prince. A piece of the weapon got stuck in the monster's abdomen, the Prince had to follow it. The Sorceress attacked the Prince many times and sent his minions to kill him. However, the Prince was able to reach the Beast and kill it to restore the sword and battle the Sorceress.

The creature could not be defeated without destroying the Haoma's heart, which was healing the creature. The Prince dived into the vines heart and destroyed it. As the Haoma died, the whole kingdom collapsed, sealing Izdihar in the sand, till someone discovers its secrets once again.

Map of Iran

THE IRAN OF TODAY,

Iran, the second largest country in the Middle East, has 5,000 years of fascinating history, and is home to one of the world's oldest continuous major civilizations.

Known as Persia until 1935, Iran was unified as a nation in 625 BC by the Medes, and was first ruled by the Achaemenid Empire; succeeded by the Seleucid Empire, the Parthians and then the Sassanids until 651 AD.

Muslims invaded Iran in 656, marking a turning point for their history, as the new Islamic policy became gradually absorbed into the Persian civilization.

ADEN ----- YEMEN

This is the place were dreams were made and fullfilled, will it ever be the same again I wonder? Here are a few of the comments people have left on the you tube pages.

Abu ShakirAden Yemen-The best city to live in

Also Khormaksar's beautiful sea liken boganvilla residences we use to drive by. Passing through famous Water tanks pass and driving along Maala's linear streetscape. Pungent gasoline smell (aroma for me) that leaked in sea water from ships and motorboats...At Tawahi port. Ultimate Day camp at Vadi and then know as Sheikh-Oth-Man. Sleeping in open under starry Sky wondering majestic view fall asleep and wake up to Falcons shrill high in sky..........

I was living in People's Democratic Republic of Yemen from 1988 to 1989 and then to united Yemen from 1991 to 1992. I was there with my family. I remember there was a belly-dance place called "Naswan" or Nassouan" in which we were going every night almost! I love Aden, it is the most beautyful city in the Arabian penninsula!

I always use to search ADEN then googled few times But who ever you are made my day but still missing information more streets of crater Aden Wonder if you can tagg them in English and post them Thankyou ..................................

WELCOME TO THE GULF OF ADEN 1963 - 5

ADEN, A Place where Dreams were Made

MAALA STRAIT

I so loved Aden during the time we were stationed in Khormaskar.

Living above Duram's store in 3 Basham Building in Maala Strait, watching from the balcony as pieces of vehicles were strategically taken from the cars that were parked in the darkness.

The ride to little Aden and shopping in Crater. Elephant Bay and the wonderful coral.

Going night fishing in a 30ft boat with the lads to catch barracuda, sand shark, and cat fish, the worse of the lot, whiskers made of very sharp wire.

Swimming in the open sea, Lido, with shark net, watching all the new-by's that had just arrived from the UK, as white as milk bottles ha ha ha. Working for Mohammed at Aden Engineering Company which had Luke Thomas's Pearl Emporium on one side and Olivetti Typewriters and machines on the other.

Oh my goodness, climbing to the top of the mountain, (the name slips my mind) counting the hundreds of steps to arrive at a look out post with "Kilroy was here" written on the walls.
Then back to Steamer Point and the Stim Bars, drinking Pimm's gin or vodka whatever you fancied.

The Bookstore where we all took our books back and swapped them for ones we hadn't read already. The trip to Bahrain with Mohammed, where I, me that is, could have been bought a dozen times over.

Picnicking in Sheik Othman, were the ants were long and black and so you never sat on the grass. Met up with a few of the Sheik's son's who had been in Cranwell RAF Training School back in Lincolnshire.

I look at the pictures now and grieve that it was so destroyed after the forces pulled out. I often think back to those days, some of our friends. Yes there was a lot of hatred from those in the Rad-fan and other regions further North.

Then the shops and the prices of things that went soaring to the ceiling when an American ship full of Matlows pulled into the docks at Steamer Point.. Frozen milk in a pyramid type container went from 1 shilling to 4 shillings lol. No difference there then. xxx

Thanks for the Memories. Aden I loved you so much. xxx
